Gutter Cleaning in the Dandenong Ranges and Melbourne's South-East

Gutter cleaning for properties across the Dandenong Ranges and Melbourne's outer south-east. Under an established eucalypt canopy, gutters do not fill on a tidy autumn schedule: leaf, shed bark ribbons and gum nuts come down through the year, with the heaviest loads after wind. We clear gutters and downpipes by hand, take the debris off site, and tell you what we found on the roofline. All gutter work is scheduled work with a confirmed date. Fully insured, $20M public liability.

Our Gutter Cleaning Options

Choose the service level that best fits your needs

Hills Residential Gutter Cleaning

Hand clearing of gutters and downpipes on properties sitting under closed canopy, where the load is bark and gum nut as much as leaf.

Ideal for: Homes in Belgrave, Selby, Monbulk, Olinda, Sassafras, Tecoma, Ferny Creek, Upper Ferntree Gully, Macclesfield, Emerald and Cockatoo

  • Gutters cleared by hand, not blown out across the garden beds
  • Downpipes checked and flushed, reachable blockages cleared
  • Valleys and roof surfaces cleared where they can be safely reached
  • Built for eucalypt load: bark ribbon, gum nuts and compacted leaf
  • All debris bagged and removed from site
  • Recurring schedules set to your canopy, not a fixed twice a year

Commercial and Owners Corporation Programmes

Scheduled gutter programmes for strata blocks, owners corporations and commercial sites, delivered against a written scope of works.

Ideal for: Owners corporations, body corporate and facilities managers, and commercial sites across Casey and Cardinia

  • Written scope of works and an itemised estimate before anything starts
  • One programme across multiple buildings or blocks
  • A single point of contact, and a written record for the committee
  • $20M public liability, workers compensation in place
  • Visits planned around tenant, resident and visitor access
  • Findings reported in writing so the committee can budget repairs

Our Process

Simple, professional, and reliable service delivery every time.

1

Assessment

We look at roof pitch, storey height, access, the canopy over the property and how much material is actually sitting in the gutters.

2

Itemised Estimate

Priced per property, because roof area, access and load vary far too much for a published figure to be honest. Estimates are adjustable if conditions on the day differ.

3

Scheduled Visit

You get a confirmed date. Gutter cleaning is planned work, and we book it into a window that suits the property and the season.

4

Clear, Remove and Report

Gutters and downpipes cleared, debris taken off site, ground left clean, and a written note of anything on the roofline you should know about.

Seasonal Considerations

The ideal gutter cleaning window in Victoria is late April to mid-May, once deciduous leaf fall is done and before the winter rain. Late July is past that window, so the two honest reasons to book right now are remedial work on gutters that are overflowing today, and getting the spring and pre-fire-season clean, roughly September to November, into the diary early. Under eucalypt canopy the load never really stops, so hills properties usually need a shorter cycle than the standard twice-yearly advice. Every visit is scheduled with a confirmed date.

What is not included, and what we refer out

Gutter cleaning is our own work, carried out by our own crews. Several things that sit close to it are not, and it is cheaper for everyone if that is clear before an estimate goes out.

  • Gutter, downpipe and fascia repairs. We report what we find. The repair itself is a licensed roof plumber's job.
  • Roof cleaning and solar panel cleaning. Not services we offer. Ground-level hard surfaces are, through our pressure cleaning and hard surface services.
  • Window cleaning. Referred out to trusted specialists, along with other non-garden home services.
  • Overhanging limbs beyond safe reach. Our in-house arborist and tree work covers pruning within safe reach, to AS 4373. Climbing, elevated work platform and full felling work goes to specialist partners, and stump grinding is arranged through trusted specialists rather than done in-house.
  • Emergency and same-day callouts. We do not run them, for any service. If a situation is unsafe, call the SES on 132 500 first.

Why gutters behave differently up the hill

Rainfall across the Dandenong Ranges runs roughly 1,000mm to 1,500mm a year and rises with elevation. Mount Dandenong averages about 1,166mm, Emerald around 920mm and Pakenham about 865mm. Rain peaks from April to October and bottoms out in January and February, so the wettest part of the year is also the part where a blocked gutter does the most damage: overflow tracks down fascia boards, into the roof cavity, and pools against footings on a sloped block.

The canopy is the other half of it. Mountain ash (Eucalyptus regnans) needs more than 1,000mm of rain and deep gradational clay loam, which is precisely why it grows in the hills and not on the corridor flats. Alongside it sit mountain grey gum, messmate, silver wattle, blackwood and southern sassafras, with tree ferns and moss underneath. That mix sheds long ribbons of bark and gum nuts as well as leaf, and it does it year-round rather than in one autumn burst. It is why leaf removal and seasonal clean-ups and gutter clearing are usually booked into the same visit here, and why the debris often needs waste removal from site rather than a green bin.

Gutter cleaning suburbs across the Ranges

We clear gutters across the hills and the corridor, with the heaviest canopy loads in Belgrave, Selby, Monbulk, Olinda, Sassafras, Tecoma, Ferny Creek, Upper Ferntree Gully, Macclesfield, Emerald and Cockatoo. Commercial and owners corporation work runs across the corridor as well.
